Ddeokbokki
(떡볶이)
Ingredients:
- 4 cups water
- 6 small dried anchovies
- 300g rice cake tubes
- 4-5 tbs kochujang
- 1 tbs kochugaru
- 1 tbs garlic
- 1 tbs soysauce
- 1 tbs sugar
- 3 tbs corn syrup (mulyeot)
- 1 med onion
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 2 sheets fish cake (ohmuk/odeng)
- sesame seeds
Method:
- Put 4 cups of water in a pan. Add the ancchovies and boil for 10 min.
- Scoop out the anchovies. Separate and cut up the rice cake tubes into bite size pieces and add it in the soup base.
- Add the kochujang and dissolve it well. Add the kocchugaru, garlic, onion, sugar, soysauce, and corn syrup. Stir until well mixed.
- Add the fish cake after 3 min. Keep stirring and add the green onions.
- Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Serve with hard boiled eggs and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
